One day Left to Register for the Dubai Women’s Triathlon World Cup

Dubai: Dubai is entering the final countdown as women from across the UAE and around the world have just one day left to register for the Dubai Women’s Triathlon World Cup 2025, the first event of its kind globally dedicated exclusively to women.
The race, scheduled for 7 December 2025, is organized by the Dubai Sports Council under the framework of the Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Initiative and aligned with the Dubai Sports Plan 2033.
The event takes place under the supervision of World Triathlon and in cooperation with the UAE Triathlon Federation, with all competitions hosted across the scenic islands of Dubai.
Registration closes at 12:00 midnight on Friday, 5 December, through the official event website: www.wtwcdubai.ae. Participation is open to women aged 18 and above, regardless of nationality or athletic background.
Olympic Champion Gwen Rosemary Jorgensen Expresses Her Excitement
American Olympic champion Gwen Rosemary Jorgensen, gold medalist at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and winner of two World Championship gold medals and one silver, expressed her enthusiasm for returning to Dubai and joining the event.
She said:
“I am genuinely excited to return to the start line here in Dubai. This championship marks a fresh beginning for me after a period away from competition. Although I am not yet at full physical readiness, I am eager to take on the challenge and test my abilities. The venue is beautiful and the field is strong. I look forward to delivering a solid performance and making the most of this important opportunity.”
Global Broadcast and Worldwide Reach
Spectators will be able to follow the race live from designated viewing areas across Dubai Islands. Dubai Sports TV will broadcast the event live, complemented by global digital streaming through the official channel of the International Olympic Committee.
This multi-platform coverage ensures extensive international visibility and reinforces Dubai’s position as a leading global sports destination.
Five Competitive Categories Across Three Disciplines
The championship features the three standard triathlon disciplines—swimming, cycling, and running—across five main categories:
Elite Individual
750 m swim. 20 km bike. 5 km run.
Sprint Individual – Amateur
750 m swim. 20 km bike. 5 km run.
Super Sprint – Beginner & Age Group
400 m swim. 10 km bike. 2.5 km run.
Team Relay
Three athletes per team. Each completes one sport within the Sprint or Super Sprint distances.

Asmaa Al Janahi Secretary General of UAE Triathlon Federation stated: “We are pleased to take part in overseeing this global event hosted by Dubai for the first time worldwide. Organizing a women-only championship reflects the emirate’s commitment to equal opportunities and the empowerment of women in sports. This championship will encourage more women to practice triathlon, expand the athlete base, and strengthen the international competitive pathway. It will also help elevate the level of Emirati participants in future editions.”
National Sponsorship and Strategic Partnerships
The event enjoys strong national institutional support.
The Dubai Sports Council has signed a sponsorship agreement with DP World as the event’s Official Sponsor, while Dubai Sports TV serves as the official broadcaster.
The championship is held in collaboration with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Police and Al Jalila Foundation, with hosting support from Dubai Holding, which provides the event venue across Dubai Islands.
