Dubai Police Highlights Ongoing Training to Support Public Safety
- December 15, 2025
Dubai: His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, visited the General Department of Training as part of the annual inspection programme for departments and police stations. The visit focused on reviewing training systems, readiness levels, and future development plans.
He was accompanied by senior officers, including Brigadier Badran Al Shamsi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Academic Affairs and Training, Brigadier Ahmad Mirdas, Director of the General Department of Training, and a number of department leaders and officers.
During the visit, the department presented its modern training system, which aims to prepare police officers both professionally and physically. The system focuses on building leadership skills, improving specialist readiness, and using advanced technologies such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence in training. It also includes strong performance measurement tools and partnerships with local and international organisations.
High satisfaction and strong learning results
Lieutenant General Al Marri reviewed key performance indicators related to training quality and governance. Results showed very high satisfaction levels among trainees, reaching 99.7% in some courses, with an overall average exceeding 98%. Learning levels in several programmes rose to 41%, far exceeding the original target.
Training delivers real impact on performance
The department also presented results from advanced stages of measuring training impact. These results showed a strong link between training and improved job performance, with an overall strategic alignment rate of 88%, alongside clear improvements in professional behaviour.
Faster emergency response times
One of the most notable outcomes was the significant improvement in emergency response times. Data showed that average response time dropped from 12.1 minutes in 2017 to just 1.86 minutes in 2024, reflecting the direct impact of continuous training on field readiness and operational efficiency.
Growing focus on fitness and wellbeing
The visit also highlighted the role of sports and fitness in police readiness. Under the Sports Strategy 2024 to 2033, Dubai Police now operates 51 gyms, used by 7256 officers, including facilities for CrossFit and other sports. Participation in fitness and awareness programmes has increased steadily over the past three years.
Future projects and innovative programmes
The department showcased several current and upcoming projects, including the specialised Police Innovation Diploma, now running for the third year, a virtual crime scene project developed with forensic teams, smart training for military movements, and the safe stop programme, along with other initiatives.
Future-ready force
At the end of the visit, Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri praised the General Department of Training, noting that the strong results and clear progress reflect Dubai Police’s forward thinking approach. He stressed that continued investment in training, innovation, and people plays a key role in strengthening Dubai Police’s readiness and reinforcing its position as a leading police force globally.
