Dubai's Green Charger Network Expands to 1,860 Charging Points

Dubai: HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), announced that the Green Charger network has expanded to more than 1,860 charging points across Dubai, including charging stations licensed by DEWA in cooperation with government and private sector institutions.
"As of mid-January 2026, the number of customers registered in the Green Charger initiative has reached 23,600. Since the initiative's launch in 2014, DEWA has delivered more than 55,200 MWh of electricity, enabling EVs to travel more than 276 million kilometres.
He added: "We are working to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to consolidate Dubai's position as a global leading city in the transformation towards a green economy and sustainable mobility, and among the world's most future-ready cities, and we continue our efforts to enhance green mobility infrastructure, in support of the UAE Net Zero Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030, which aim to stimulate the use of environmentally friendly means of transportation, in line with the goals of the UAE The emirate is committed to sustainability, air quality and greenhouse gas emissions.
He pointed out that the expansion of charging points as part of the "Green Charger" initiative contributes to keeping pace with the increasing growth in the number of electric vehicles, and provides a smooth and fast experience for users, which enhances Dubai's position as a global destination to live, work and visit.
DEWA offers four types of 'Green Charger' stations: Ultra-Fast Charging Stations, Fast Charging, Public Places Charger and Wall Charger. Customers can easily locate charging stations across Dubai through DEWA's website and smart app, along with 14 other digital platforms.
DEWA allows customers to create a "Green Charger" account through its website www.dewa.gov.ae and smart application or through the Interactive Voice Response System at the Customer Care Center, to enable them to use charging stations within one hour of vehicle registration.
