Sharjah: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Honorary President of the Emirates Writers and Writers Union, met on Monday with Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Book Authority.

At the beginning of the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Sharjah Book Authority, His Highness welcomed the Chairman and members of the Federation, praising the efforts made during the past period, which serve the development of the cultural arena and support Emirati intellectuals and writers, in a way that contributes to the development of their writings and increases literary and cultural production.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah pointed out the need to diversify activities and programs that motivate writers to continue writing and publishing books, explaining that distinguished publications are not by the number of many pages, but by valuable content and the appropriate writing style, stressing the importance of embracing young talents and taking them by the hand to develop their skills and abilities in writing and creativity, which will enable them to start and continue writing and provide libraries with various publications.

His Highness exchanged talks with the members of the Federation on various cultural affairs and the challenges facing Emirati writers, stressing his continuous support for all initiatives and activities that would promote writers, support their publications and enhance their spread at various levels.

The President and members of the UAE Writers and Writers Union appreciated the support and follow-up of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for all the activities of the Federation since its establishment, and his continuous keenness to meet with the members of the Federation, and His Highness's directives that enable the Federation to proceed according to clear plans that enable the cultural system in the country and writers and writers to achieve the desired goals.
