Devotees Throng Ayodhya as Ram Navami Celebrated with Fervour

Ayodhya: The holy city of Ayodhya witnessed a massive surge of devotees on Friday as thousands gathered to celebrate Ram Navami, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ram.

Devotees from across the country arrived in large numbers to take part in religious rituals. After taking a holy dip in the Saryu River, they thronged prominent temples, including the Ram Temple, to offer prayers.

The entire city was immersed in a deeply devotional atmosphere, with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” echoing through the streets. A strong sense of enthusiasm and spiritual energy was visible among the devotees throughout the day.

Authorities implemented extensive security arrangements to manage the large crowds. Police personnel were deployed across key locations, while senior administrative officials monitored the situation closely.

Ayodhya Division Commissioner Rajesh Kumar said that the city was witnessing a “wave of faith,” with devotees present everywhere. He added that officials were continuously inspecting arrangements and ensuring smooth conduct of the celebrations.

Municipal Commissioner Jayant Kumar confirmed that essential services such as drinking water, sanitation, and cleanliness were being maintained effectively despite the heavy footfall.

A highlight of the celebrations was the “Surya Tilak” ceremony, which drew admiration from saints and visitors, who described it as a unique spectacle not seen anywhere else in the world.

Prominent figures also подчеркнули the significance of the festival. Iqbal Ansari noted that Ram Navami is one of the most celebrated festivals, attracting large crowds each year. Meanwhile, a visiting saint from Mathura expressed deep devotion, taking a holy dip in the Saryu and offering prayers at the Ram Temple.

Preparations for the festival extended beyond rituals, with local artisans playing a key role. Tailors across Ayodhya were busy stitching special attire (poshak) for Lord Ram and other deities in various temples. Bhagwat Prasad Pahadi, a local tailor, said his family has been traditionally involved in this service and has received orders from major temples such as Sri Ram Vallabh Kunj, Janki Mahal, and Ram Lalla Temple.

Ram Navami marks the conclusion of the nine-day Chaitra Navratri festival, during which devotees worship the nine forms of Goddess Shakti. The festival is celebrated across India with great devotion, prayers, and cultural significance.
