Sharjah land registry marks 2026 forum with record-breaking year
- May 08, 2026
Sharjah: The Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department gathered its staff for the 2026 edition of its annual forum, an event that has become a fixture in the department’s calendar as much for its atmosphere as its agenda. This year’s gathering took place under the theme ‘Messages Between the Stars' – a nod to institutional pride and the sense of shared purpose the department has worked to cultivate across its various divisions.
The forum was designed not simply as a ceremony but as a platform for healthy competition among staff—a chance to recognise those who had gone beyond their remit and to inspire others to follow suit. In a region where the property sector moves quickly, the department is plainly aware that the people driving it matter as much as the systems underpinning it.
Department’s priorities
Speaking to “Sharjah 24” on the sidelines of the event, Abdulaziz Ahmad Al Shamsi, director general of the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, was clear about what the forum is meant to achieve. The aim, he said, is to embed a genuine culture of excellence within the organisation—not just at a management level but across every department.
Al Shamsi spoke about the importance of recognising individual contributions, building team cohesion, and keeping talented staff motivated to push further. These are not new ideas in the world of public administration, but the department appears committed to making them operational rather than rhetorical – tying staff recognition directly to its broader agenda of modernising real estate services across Sharjah.
Strong numbers
The forum was also a chance to reflect on a strong year for the sector. Al Shamsi confirmed that real estate transactions in Sharjah reached AED 65.6 billion in 2025, with more than 132,000 individual transactions completed over the course of the year.
A number of staff members were formally recognised at the forum for their performance in 2025—an acknowledgement, as Al Shamsi suggested, of the direct link between the quality of the department’s people and the results it is able to deliver. He closed his remarks by wishing all employees continued success through the year ahead.
