Dubai Police Command-and-Control Centre Strengthens Community Safety and Rapid Response

Dubai: Major General Hareb Mohammad Al Shamsi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs at Dubai Police, praised the General Department of Operations for its rapid and flexible handling of reports received through the Command-and-Control Centre, stressing that swift response remains a top priority in safeguarding vital areas and protecting property.
His remarks came during a meeting to review the General Department of Operations’ performance during the first quarter of 2026, attended by Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, Brigadier Mohammad Al Muhairi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Operations, Brigadier Ahmad Al Muhairi, Director of the Inspection and Control Department, along with several senior officers.
During the meeting, Major General Al Shamsi reviewed operational performance indicators, the outcomes of recommendations issued during the previous meeting, achievement rates on the ground, and an analytical presentation on calls received by the Command and Control Centre and the mechanisms used to handle them.
1.3 Million Calls
Statistics presented by the General Department of Operations revealed that the Command-and-Control Centre handled more than 1.3 million calls during the first quarter of this year.
The centre also achieved a 99.6% compliance rate in answering emergency calls within less than 10 seconds, reflecting Dubai Police’s ability to maintain advanced response levels despite the increase in incoming reports.
In terms of security coverage, police stations achieved a 98.9% coverage rate across their jurisdictions during the first quarter of 2026, demonstrating the efficiency and flexibility of operational plans in adapting to various developments.
Major General Al Shamsi emphasised that these positive results are the outcome of continuous performance reviews and ongoing development of operational systems in line with the requirements of modern policing. He highlighted the vital role played by the Command and Control Centre as Dubai Police’s primary interface for receiving public calls and responding immediately to reports as a matter of utmost priority.
He added that the General Department of Operations serves as a key link between community members, police stations, and Dubai Police’s general departments by receiving reports and efficiently directing them to the relevant entities, contributing to faster response times and the highest levels of security readiness.
Major General Al Shamsi also noted that the department provides smart analytical readings and qualitative indicators that support decision makers with accurate real time data on operational performance and the security situation across the emirate, strengthening security planning and proactive response capabilities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Major General Al Shamsi commended the efforts of the General Department of Operations personnel, praising their teamwork and professionalism, and affirming that the achieved results reflect their dedication to serving the community and enhancing security and stability.
