Dubai: Dubai Police, represented by the Athletes Council and the Future Foresight Centre, organised a panel discussion titled "The Future of Athletes in Dubai Police" at the Dubai Police Officers' Club.

The session was inaugurated by Brigadier Dr. Expert Hamdan Al Ghassia, Director of the Centre and Secretary‑General of the Government Initiatives Councils at Dubai Police. The discussion was attended by Dr. Maryam Anas Al Matroushi, Chairperson of the Athletes Council at Dubai Police, along with a select group of athletes, experts, and specialists from the sports sector.

Brig. Al Ghassia stated that the panel discussion is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen communication with various segments of the sports community, including internal and external partners from institutions across the UAE. He pointed out the session aims to develop a forward‑looking vision by mapping the future pathway for sports talents within Dubai Police, achieve sustainable sports performance, and raise physical readiness levels in line with global best practices. “This will be accomplished through strategic partnerships with local and international sports organisations, including the Police Sports Federation, national sports federations, and local sports councils,” he added.

Brig. Al Ghassia affirmed the support of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander‑in‑Chief of Dubai Police, for all sports initiatives and development programmes that enhance Dubai Police's position as an integrated security and sports system. He emphasised that this is achieved by investing in human capital, supporting both male and female police sports talents, and focusing on preparing professional athletes with high levels of physical and psychological readiness – in line with building cadres capable of excelling both on the field and professionally.

Meanwhile, Dr. Maryam Al Matroushi explained that the panel discussion covered several key themes, including the future challenges facing athletes in Dubai Police, opportunities for empowering youth in the sports and security sectors, community partnership in sports, and the theme of zero bureaucracy.

She noted that the session featured interactive discussions aimed at reviewing a number of successful experiences and initiatives that have contributed to enhancing and refining the skills of athletes in Dubai Police. “The outcomes and recommendations of the session will be studied and transformed into practical initiatives and programmes that contribute to the development of sports work and raise the level of competitiveness and excellence of Dubai Police across various sports fields.
