Alhind Clarifies Delay in Launch of Indian Consular Services in UAE
- July 03, 2026
Dubai: Alhind Tours & Travels has clarified that the launch of its Consular, Passport and Visa (CPV) services in the UAE has been temporarily postponed until further notice, following official communication from the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi.
The company said the services, which were originally scheduled to begin on July 1, have been deferred due to administrative reasons cited by the embassy. Despite the delay, Alhind stated that it has completed all operational preparations and is ready to commence services immediately once it receives the necessary approval from the Indian mission.
As part of its preparations, Alhind has established 16 CPV application centres across the UAE. These centres are located in Al Danah, Al Reem, Musaffah, Al Ain, Ghayathi, Madinat Zayed, Bur Dubai, Dubai Investment Park (DIP), Al Majaz, Rolla, Ajman, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, Khorfakkan, Kalba, and Ras Al Khaimah.
The delay comes amid an ongoing legal dispute over the consular services contract. Alhind was awarded the contract earlier this year after emerging as the lowest bidder in a competitive tender process conducted in November 2025, replacing BLS International, which had handled Indian passport, visa, and consular services in the UAE for more than a decade.
However, two unsuccessful bidders challenged the contract award before the Delhi High Court, alleging they were excluded from the technical evaluation stage without adequate justification. The case is currently under judicial consideration, delaying the implementation of the new service provider.
In the meantime, the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai have started offering limited walk-in passport, visa, and document attestation services from July 2 on a first-come, first-served basis to minimise inconvenience for applicants.
Alhind has advised applicants requiring consular services to approach the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General of India in Dubai, as applicable, and to regularly monitor their official websites for the latest updates.
Expressing regret over the delay, the company said it appreciates the patience and understanding of applicants and remains committed to delivering efficient, transparent, and customer-focused services once operations officially begin.
Established more than three decades ago, the Alhind Group is one of India's leading travel and integrated service providers, operating a global network of over 130 offices.
