Dubai Police Organises Specialised Workshop for Knowledge Exchange on Explosives Security

Dubai: His Excellency Major General Hareb Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs at Dubai Police, attended a specialised workshop on knowledge exchange in the field of explosives security.

Organised by the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency, the event brought together 70 specialists from the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Interior, Abu Dhabi Police, and Sharjah Police. The workshop reflected a shared commitment to unifying national efforts, strengthening integration among security and military entities, and enhancing joint operational frameworks to address evolving security challenges.

The workshop was also attended by Brigadier Hisham Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency for Emergency Affairs, along with senior officers and officials from the participating entities.

Major General Hareb Al Shamsi affirmed that the workshop embodies Dubai Police's commitment to fostering a culture of strategic partnership with various security and military entities. “This commitment stems from the belief that the exchange of knowledge and expertise is a fundamental pillar in strengthening national security readiness and enhancing the capacity to address emerging challenges and threats, thereby reinforcing the UAE's leading position in the fields of security and safety,” he continued.

Al Shamsi noted that sharing knowledge and lessons learned from practical field experience contributes to developing institutional performance, anticipating and analysing patterns of modern security threats, and raising awareness and preparedness among specialists. “This, in turn, improves response speed and the efficiency of managing diverse security scenarios in line with international best practices,” he added.

The workshop covered a number of specialised themes, including the review of field experiences, discussion of best practices, and exchange of insights among experts from the participating entities. The objective was to advance joint operational mechanisms and produce practical recommendations that contribute to raising national readiness and strengthening institutional integration in facing future challenges.

Participants concluded by affirming the importance of sustaining knowledge exchange programmes between security and military entities, documenting field expertise, and developing cooperation and coordination channels. This serves to enhance the readiness of national personnel and supports the achievement of the highest levels of safety and security, in line with the wise leadership's vision of building an advanced and sustainable security system.
