Dubai: For students across Dubai, the start of the new academic year brought an opportunity to meet the police officers who help keep their neighbourhoods safe, ask them questions and talk openly about safety, responsibility and everyday situations they may face.

Directors of Dubai Police stations and their deputies visited a number of schools across the emirate as part of the School Security initiative, connecting with students from different Arab and international communities as they began the 2026 to 2027 academic year.

Rather than focusing solely on traditional safety messages, the visits created opportunities for direct interaction between students and police officers, helping young people understand the role of police in their communities while building greater trust and communication.

Conversations That Matter to Students

During interactive awareness sessions, officers spoke with students about issues they may encounter in their everyday lives, including school safety, positive behaviour and how to respond appropriately to different situations inside and outside school.
Students were encouraged to ask questions and engage directly with officers, giving them a better understanding of how Dubai Police protects the community and works to maintain safe educational environments.

The visits form part of the Back to School initiative supervised by the School Security Team, which seeks to strengthen community partnership between Dubai Police and educational institutions while developing security and traffic awareness among young people.

Building Trust from the Classroom

Dubai Police station directors said direct engagement with students from different communities helps create stronger relationships between young people and police. Teaching staff and students also welcomed the visits, highlighting the value of learning and interacting directly with officers. They said such engagement helps strengthen trust and communication while raising students’ awareness of safe and responsible behaviour.

Safety Is a Shared Effort

Dubai Police stressed the importance of continued cooperation with the Ministry of Education and educational institutions on matters affecting students, including security, social, cultural and health issues. Through the School Security initiative, police stations visit schools within their respective areas to deliver awareness messages and fulfil their wider community role.

Station directors also congratulated teaching, administrative and technical staff and parents on the beginning of the academic year, praising schools for their role in preparing capable future generations.

They encouraged students to take their education seriously, work hard towards their goals, set a positive example for their classmates and make their families proud.

Staying Safe on the Journey to School

The safety message also extends beyond school grounds. Students and parents were reminded to remain attentive when boarding and leaving school buses, while motorists were urged to comply with traffic rules and exercise particular care around schools.

Dubai Police will conduct further awareness lectures for students and teaching staff across different areas of the city. Patrol presence will also be intensified during morning arrival and the end of the school day to help regulate traffic and support safer journeys to and from school.
