From Virtual Reality to Smart Policing Dubai Police Concludes ATM 2026 Participation
- September 17, 2026
Dubai: Dubai Police concluded its participation at Arabian Travel Market 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre, highlighting how smart technology, proactive services and tourist awareness are helping provide visitors with a safer and more seamless experience in Dubai.
On the final day of the exhibition, Major General Harib Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs at Dubai Police, visited the Dubai Police stand and reviewed the smart and innovative services presented in the field of tourist security.
Al Shamsi stressed Dubai Police’s commitment to continuously developing an integrated tourist security ecosystem that goes beyond responding to reports to focus on prevention, proactive policing and easier access to services.
“The approach supports Dubai’s vision of providing an exceptional visitor experience and reinforces its position as one of the world’s safest and most attractive cities to live in, visit and explore” he said.
Seven Decades of Policing in Virtual Reality
Among the experiences presented during the exhibition was a virtual reality tour of the Dubai Police Museum in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, allowing visitors to explore the museum’s galleries, collections and historical milestones as though they were physically inside.
The museum’s seven galleries trace the development of Dubai Police across seven decades, beginning with its establishment and the introduction of organised policing.
The journey covers periods of expansion and capacity building, leadership and modernisation, institutional excellence and professionalism, international recognition and creativity, and the acceleration of digital transformation.
It culminates with smart resilience and sustainability, reflecting Dubai Police’s adoption of artificial intelligence and future technologies to strengthen its global leadership.
UAE SWAT Challenge 2027
Visitors were also introduced to the eighth edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge, scheduled to take place from 23 to 27 January 2027 at the Training City in Al Ruwayyah.
The international event brings together police tactical and rapid intervention teams from around the world to test their readiness and tactical, physical and technical capabilities while exchanging expertise and learning about international best practices.
Teams will compete over five days across five main events, including Tactical, Assault, Officer Rescue, Tower and Obstacle Course, through scenarios designed to test precision, speed, teamwork and field capabilities.
Smart Police Services for Visitors
The Dubai Police stand also highlighted the Dubai Police smart app, which provides round the clock access to a wide range of traffic, criminal and community services.
Users can submit reports and enquiries, track requests and complete a range of police transactions digitally.
For tourists and visitors, the app provides convenient access to police services and information throughout their stay, while strengthening communication with Dubai Police and supporting a greater sense of safety and reassurance.
Dubai Police Academy Project
Al Shamsi also reviewed the project for the new Dubai Police Academy in Al Ruwayyah First, which is expected to be completed in 2027.
He was briefed on the project’s facilities, infrastructure and capacity for students and visitors, as part of Dubai Police’s continued investment in developing future policing capabilities.
Tourist Awareness Marks Final Day
As its participation drew to a close, Dubai Police continued delivering awareness sessions on tourist security to visitors at Arabian Travel Market.
The sessions highlighted the concept of tourist security and the procedures and services available to help visitors enjoy a safe, comfortable and positive experience in Dubai.
They also introduced visitors to Smart Police Stations (SPS), the Lost and Found system, the eCrime platform and the cybercrime awareness platform, providing practical information on how to access support when needed.
