Sheikh Mohammed Urges Public to Raise UAE Flag on November 3

Dubai: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has called on citizens, residents and institutions across the country to raise the UAE flag on November 3 to mark the annual Flag Day celebrations.

In a message issued on Tuesday, Sheikh Mohammed urged government entities, ministries, schools, universities, businesses and households to display the national flag with pride and honour.

He called on everyone to raise the UAE flag “high, proud, noble, and fluttering in the sky of our country,” highlighting the importance of national unity, loyalty and belonging.

Flag Day is observed annually on November 3 and symbolises the nation's unity, achievements and shared values. The occasion was announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid on December 11, 2012, and was first celebrated in 2013.

The day commemorates the UAE's leadership and national journey, bringing together citizens and residents to express their pride in the country and appreciation for its founding principles.

Over the past two years, Flag Day has also marked the beginning of the UAE's National Month celebrations, which continue until December 2, when the country celebrates Eid Al Etihad, the UAE's National Day.

Across the Emirates, prominent landmarks, beaches and public spaces are expected to reflect the spirit of the occasion, with national flags displayed across buildings and public areas.

Flag Day serves as an opportunity for the UAE community to reaffirm its commitment to the nation's unity, progress and future, while celebrating the values that bring together people from different backgrounds.
