Dubai:The General Headquarters of Dubai Police has maintained the continuity of its operation with employees actively working remotely during the National Sterilisation Program and the implementation of precaution measures to combat COVID-19.

Dubai Police employees have made use of the latest AI system and technologies provided by the HQ to stay safe at home while fulfilling their daily tasks, holding online meetings via “Skype for Business” application, as well as supervising the field operations of frontline workers and other employees across the police sectors.     

Brigadier Khalid Nasser Al Razoouqi, Director of Artificial Intelligence Department at Dubai Police confirmed that during the National Sterilisation Program, which began at the end of March until the first of June, as many as 9326 virtual meetings were held by the Dubai Police employees who for 3118 hours discussed details of their field missions and completed tasks remotely.     

“The Dubai Police, in such a short time, was capable of implementing remote working system since all of its services are available by the time mentioned on its website and smartphone applications for both the public and employees which ensured the safety of all and facilitated the performance of duties without delay,” Brig. Al Razouqi said.

“As per Artificial Intelligent Strategic Plan of Dubai Police (2018-2021), the General Department of AI had been working consistently for the last two months to develop, upgrade and provide services to enable employees to work efficiently,” Brig. Al Razouqi continued.

It is worth noting that the online transactions processed via electronic and smart platforms have increased due to the high demand since the beginning of the current year in conjunction with the implementation of COVID-19 precaution measures. The number of transactions made since the end of March till Mid May reached 612,147. These included 234,194 transactions processed via the Dubai Police smart application and 377,953 processed through the website.
