Foodies can log onto a virtual masterclass in the art of cooking tasty tapas and much more with the chefs at A Capella restaurant. Part of the DSS Chef Masterclass series, held in collaboration with Dubai Eye radio station, online viewers will be able to discover the secrets of the restaurant’s Asian, Latin and European inspired menu on Friday 7 August at 12.30pm. Families and friends can kick-start the weekend with a fun and challenging workout. As part of the weekly Flashfit Thursday and Friday activations, Ibn Battuta Mall will host two unique fitness challenges in partnership with Fitness First. Shoppers who spend AED50 can try out a giant Snakes and Ladders board game or the Hang Challenge. These fun and active games are perfect for all ages and fitness levels.
City Centre Mirdif’s summer camp is the perfect solution for parents who want to explore the sales knowing their kids are safe and playing happily. The camp, which is open from 10am to midnight on weekends and 10am to 10pm on weekdays, features a host of sports, arts and crafts and lots of games for boys and girls to enjoy. Prices range from AED50 per hour for the Drop & Shop option to AED600 per week for a five-day camp, inclusive of activities.
Meet Modesh and his new best friend Dana at Dubai Festival City Mall. Until Friday 7 August, the two loveable characters will appear as part of a high-tech and very entertaining store window display. As people walk past the window, their silhouette will become Modesh and Dana, who will perform many hilarious routines and even interact with their audience. Performances of the Interactive Shadow Wall show will take place at 3.20pm, 5pm, 5pm, 7.45pm, 9pm and 10pm daily until 7 August.

SHOPPING AND PROMOTIONS

DSS and Modesh have teamed up this summer to offer the ultimate new school year boost to parents and students with the return of the Modesh Scholarship Programme. On 9 August, and until 26 August, 18 lucky students can win academic scholarships worth AED25,000 each. The cash can be used to pay the school fees of students and to help youngsters and their parents release their academic dreams. The city-wide promotion is open to families who spend AED250 in any of the 16 participating malls and shopping destinations.
