Dubai:The Dubai Police official social media channels have responded to 11,685 inquiries during the first half of this year.

According to Brigadier Khalid Ali Shuhail, Director of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, these inquiries varied between general questions, general assistance requests, traffic and criminal related inquiries, services-related complaints and feedbacks. "The Social Media Section at Dubai Police has also received 2710 Thank-You letters from followers of Dubai Police General HQ official accounts on social media platforms," Brig. Shuhail said.

"Dubai Police accounts on "Twitter", "Facebook" and "Instagram" also saw an increase in audience engagement level at 4,829,520 interactions during the first half of this year," he added.

Brigadier Shuhail said the Social Media Department at Dubai Police operates as per the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, of applying the international best practices in the field of social communications. "Within seven years, the Section has remarkably scored record achievements at the local and federal government departments level. This is a result of Dubai Police's keenness to enhance communication channels with members of the public and to deal with their feedbacks and complaints, "he noted.

Brigadier Shuhail added that the Social Media Section had achieved 95% in the performance indicator of responding to inquiries, and a satisfaction rate of 91% among community members on social media channels.
