Dubai:In response to “Awdatokm Amana” (Your Return is a Duty) Initiative, the Dubai Police has recently received a generous donation from a philanthropist covering the flight ticket fares of 23 inmates of the Dubai Correctional and Punitive Establishments and facilitating their return to their home countries after serving their times.

The philanthropist also granted an amount of money to help them to start up a new chapter.

Brigadier Ali Al Shamali, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions at Dubai Police, praised the community engagement in the “Awdatokm Amana” initiative, launched by Dubai Correctional and Punitive Establishments last week, which addresses the facilitation of inmates’ return to their home countries and acceleration of their travel procedures after serving their sentences, especially considering the special circumstances of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) globally.  

"This action reflects the values of giving, charity and tolerance of Emirati people, which come out of their beliefs of the necessity of solidarity with their fellow human around the world", he Al Shamali.

Al Shamali expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the philanthropist and everyone who communicated with Punitive and Correctional Institutions Dept. to contribute to the initiative, indicating to the community's solidarity and the humanitarian aids provided by them to help those who in need and relieve them of burden and enable them to be active individuals in their societies.
