Dubai:The Dubai Police, represented by the Social Media section at the Security Media Department, has recently ranked second among the fastest growing governmental Twitter accounts at the national level in 2020. 

His Excellency Major General Dr Al Salal Saeed Bin Huwaidi Al Falasi, Assistant Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police for Administrative Affairs, congratulated the Security Media Department, represented by the Social Media section, on this occasion and lauded the efforts of the employees in achieving successful and effective management of Dubai Police account on Twitter. He indicated that H.E Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, believes that media is a platform where Dubai Police could reach the community and look at members of public needs through its social media accounts.  

Colonel Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Acting Director of the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, said that the Dubai Police accounts on social media have been witnessing a remarkable development during the past period, in terms of the total number of followers and the audience interactions with published posts, indicating that Dubai Police have succeeded in turning social media accounts from a news publishing platform into an interactive platform in community service. 

Al Mansouri emphasized that this achievement came as a result of Dubai Police's keenness to enhance communication channels with members of the public, receive their feedback, and deal with their complaints on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram platforms.

Less Than Two Hours
Major Khalid Al Marri, Head of the Social Media Section at the Security Media Department at the General Department of Community Happiness in Dubai Police, said that due to the continuous support of the senior leadership at Dubai Police, the Section successfully reaped the efforts of such great achievement through setting a record of attending to the members of the Public inquiries in less than two hours and handling 17,878 inquiries during the current year. 

7.9% of Followers Growth 
"One million and 700 thousand are following Dubai Police on Twitter. The account has grown by 7.9% since the beginning of 2020 and gained 130 thousand followers, so far," Major. Al Marri confirmed. 

High Engagement 
"Over the last 11 months, two million and 551 thousand users actively engaged with our account, while seven million and 188 thousand interacted with Dubai Police posts across all of the social media accounts including "Twitter", "Facebook" and "Instagram"," Head of Social Media Section added. 

181,097,000 Viewes
"Moreover, 71 million and 762 thousand have viewed Dubai Police videos on Twitter, while 181 million and 97 thousand have also viewed the published visual content across all the social media platforms," Major. Al Marri continued.
