Dubai: The Dubai Police Academy has recently hosted the "Skechers Performance Run", organized by Skechers Company in collaboration with "Ripe Market".

The Skechers Performance Run brought together 250 athletes from UAE citizens and residents to race in three distance categories that range from 2.5km (Bronze run), 5km (Silver run) and 10km (Gold run). The event was attended by 300 visitors from 40 different nationalities and welcomed all people from children to elderly.   

Mr.Butti Al Falasi, the Director of Security Awareness Department at Dubai Police, said that the Marathon is part of the "Positive Spirit" sports initiative, which is organized by the Dubai Police General Command in collaboration with the strategic partner, namely Ripe Market, a well-known community event that brings people together from different nationalities to engage them in various cultural and educational activities, as well as supporting small local businesses.        

"The event aims at promoting values of tolerance, coexistence, respect and dialogue among society members. In addition to renouncing all forms of racial discrimination and hate speech, and cultivating a progressive sporting culture," Al Falasi added.
