Human Trafficking Diploma Fourth Week kicks off

Dubai: The Human Rights Department of the Dubai Police has launched its fourth week of the five-week diploma course in human trafficking, coordination and collaboration with the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking (NCCHT) and the Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI) and the Human Trafficking Control Centre at Dubai Police.

The Diploma is organised virtually in compliance with the precautionary measures against Covid-19 with 101 attendees from the GCC and Arab countries representing different police and judicial agencies, human rights associations, shelters, government and local departments in the country, and from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The programme goes beyond theory and provides practical training based on the expertise and experience of lecturers. The programme is set to contribute to the region's efforts in the fight against human trafficking crimes.

From 2015 to 2020, the programme succeeded in training 239 candidates representing 23 entities concerned with combating human trafficking crimes across the GCC and Arab countries. Thus, the programme has contributed to these countries knowledge and experience in tackling human trafficking and its implications.
