Dubai: The Hemaya International Center at the General Department of Anti-Narcotics at Dubai Police has recently launched the Dubai Winter Programme for Students, under the slogan "We Train to Protect", with the participation of 523 female and male students. 

The Programme, which runs until the 23rd of December, is carried out this year in cooperation with the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) and Expo School Programme. It aims at engaging students during their winter break in outdoor, physical activities, developing their skills and expanding their overall knowledge. 

Colonel Abdullah Hassan AlKhayat, Director of Hemaya International Centre, said that participating students would be visiting Expo 2020 as part of the programme activities to enjoy the global event and tour the pavilions to gain information and knowledge on the latest technologies and recent innovations and inventions. 

"The students start their programme at 9:00 AM every day with exercises to boost energy for their military training sessions. After taking a break, they're preparing themselves for a trip to Expo 2020," the Director of Hemaya International Centre added.

The activities take place at six different training centres to reach all students across the Emirate, including Hemaya Girls Schools, Ahmed Bin Rashid Boys School for Basic Education and Al Qeyam High School for female participants and Hemaya Boys Schools, Al Safa High School and Al Maaref School for Secondary Education for male participants. Another six centers are also designated for to carry out events and special activities.    

Col. AlKhayat expresses his appreciation to Dubai Police's partners for their support and efforts to ensure the Programme's success and positive experience for the students.
