Dubai Police welcomes Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs

Dubai: The Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, H.E Lt. General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri has recently received a delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia.
The delegation, headed by H.E Aleksandar Vulin, Serbia's Interior Minister, was received within the framework of enhancing cooperation and coordination between both parties, and the exchange of experiences and information that mutually benefit both bodies.
H.E Lt. Gen. Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri stressed the Dubai Police's keenness to cement cooperation and coordination with its international counterparts and build strategic partnerships in various sectors.
Dubai Police Command & Control Centre
Al-Marri accompanied the Serbian delegation to the Command and Control Centre where they were briefed about the latest services and initiatives that enhance security and safety in the emirate, as well as the center’s equipment and latest additions such as the 3D map that covers Dubai and the patrols dispatching system that ensures swift and efficient response to reports and emergency calls.
Police Councils
H.E Vulin and the accompanying delegation learned about the Government Initiatives Councils Complex that hosts nine councils established by Dubai Police, including Student Council, Innovation Council, Scholars Council, Women's Police Council, the Positivity & Happiness Council, Young Leaders Council, People of Determination Council and Dubai Police University Student Council, in order to support the general and sub-departments in Dubai Police to come up with new and qualitative initiatives in line with the government's objectives and vision.
The Delegation also briefed about the achievements carried out by the Dubai Police Council of Directors of Police Stations and its role in strengthening the relationship with various internal and external partners, as well as contributing to achieving the strategic objectives of Dubai Police of ensuring community happiness, enabling a safe city, and innovating in resource management and innovation.
The eCrime Platform
The guest delegation then toured the eCrime Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation and learned about the platform that allows members of the public, private and public entities to report issues and crimes in the cyberspaces namely; suspicious emails, social media related issues, hacking, online bullying, and cyber-extortion.
Smart Bag
The Serbian delegation also learned about the new smart money transfer bag introduced by the Dubai Police that helps thwart any attempt to rob money transfer vehicles. The bag, which is made of solid material to prevent theft, features an ink that will destroy money when it is stolen. Additional features of the bag include an alarm system, a tracking device, and smoke fumes that will frighten the thieves and expose them.
Success Stories
Al Marri also shared with the Serbian delegation the latest achievements and successful operations that Dubai Police carried out to arrest most wanted criminals internationally in cooperation with police agencies around the world. The delegation watched a short film on the "Fox Hunt 2" operation in which Dubai Police took down the Raymond Igbalode Abbas, also known as "Hushpuppi" and Olalekan Jacob Ponle aka "Woodberry" along with ten African cybercriminals for committing crimes outside the UAE, including money-laundering, cyber fraud, hacking, criminal impersonating, scamming individuals, banking fraud and identity theft.
The delegation was briefed about the most prominent international cases in which Dubai Police arrested a number of wanted criminals and brought them to justice, including two of the Australian Millstream drug gang kingpins, Benjamin Neil and Mathew John, and one of Italy's most wanted criminals, Raffaele Imperiale, an alleged kingpin of the organised crime syndicate 'Camorra' which is involved in drug and weapons trafficking crimes across international borders.
HR Command Room
The Serbian delegation also briefed about the force’s human resources operations room, which is equipped with the latest artificial intelligence technologies and smart systems that provide decision-makers with an insightful analysis-based understanding of Dubai Police human resources and future needs.
The HR Command Room collects relevant data from Dubai Police’s various organisational units and departments that are directly linked to the room, and analyses all strategic indicators using a set of smart programs and specialised applications.
SPS
H.E Vulin and his accompanying delegation visited the Dubai Smart Police Station (SPS) at Expo 2020, where officers-in-duty explained the self-service station, which enables customers to complete transactions smoothly and without visiting the traditional police stations or waiting in queues.
Praise
Towards the end of the visit, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia expressed his thanked to Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri for the warm welcome and hospitality he received and praised the Force for their remarkable achievements in ensuring safety, security and community happiness.
The Serbian delegation, which was headed by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia, included Mrs Maja Jestrović, Deputy Head of the Sector for International Cooperation, EU Affairs and Planning; Mr Bogdan Pušić, Head of the Criminal Police Directorate; Mrs Jasna Popović Ćosić, Media Adviser; and H.E Dr Danica Stepić from the Embassy of The Republic of Serbia.
