Dubai: Female players of the General Directorate of Residency & Foreigners Affairs won the titles of the bowling competition of the 10th edition of “Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament”, the biggest of its kind, which is organized by Dubai Sports Council (DSC) under the generous patronage of H.H. Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al-Maktoum, the Wife of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the Vice President & Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai. 

Reem Jamal of the General Directorate of Residency & Foreigners Affairs won 1st place of the bowling competition – locals’ category, took place at Dubai International Bowling Center in Al-Mamzar, followed by her colleague in the same Department Asmaa Al-Suwaidi in the 2nd place, while Shaikha Jasim of Dubai Police came 3rd.

In expatriates’ category, Roella Marcia of Fem Advisory Consulting won 1st place, followed by Marvik Africano of Christian Dior in the 2nd place and Jason Belluzzo from Cash Cars in the 3rd place.

The current edition of the Tournament, to be concluded on 21st Nov. 2022, is organized with participation of 1000 female players from the various governmental, semi-governmental & private sectors, who compete in 10 sports competitions; these are: bowling, running, cycling, padel tennis, CrossFit, squash, badminton, volleyball, table tennis, chess & esports.

The cycling competition will take place at Meydan Bike Track on 9th Nov. at 04:00 pm. Contestants are classified into two categories: these are: amateur locals’ category for a distance of 20 km and open category for a distance of 30 km. The padel tennis will be held at the Padel Point Club from 10th to 14th Nov. and the participants are also classified into two categories (locals’ category & open category). The CrossFit competition is scheduled on 12th Nov. at Luna Ladies Sports Club.

It is worth-mentioning that the 4.5 km running competition was held Tuesday 8th Nov. at Meydan Racetrack. Racers in this competition were classified into two categories (locals’ category and open category).

All competitions are held during evening times in order to enable participants and fans to carry out their tasks & duties during the official working hours without any a need for absence or early leaving.

The technical committee stated that rules applicable in local federations will be implemented in addition to articles which are newly introduced in the respective federations.   

Rules & regulations are stipulated in a way that copes with abilities of female associates of governmental, semi-governmental & private entities and in such way that does not contradict the rules applicable in each of the respective federations.
