Dubai Police Explores Smart Security Transformation in Strategic ‘AI Breakfast’ Dialogue at WPS
Dubai: As part of the ongoing activities surrounding the World Police Summit hosted in Dubai, the General Department of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police held a strategic discussion session titled “AI Breakfast”.

The session brought together senior police leadership, heads of specialised departments, and international experts, academics, and AI specialists for an interactive dialogue to explore future challenges and design practical solutions to advance Dubai’s security ecosystem.

The session was opened by Major General Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police, who highlighted that smart transformation in policing is no longer an option but a strategic pathway that redefines institutions and enhances their ability to respond and adapt to fast-evolving realities.

“We do not wait for the future to confront us with its challenges. Instead, we shape it in a way that secures our city and safeguards our communities,” he said. “Policing transformation goes beyond adopting technology. It requires strengthening infrastructure resilience, optimising data efficiency, streamlining procedures, and making smart investments in emerging technologies. All of this demands forward-thinking and policies rooted in knowledge and collaboration.”

Four Pillars of Transformation
Major General Al Razooqi outlined four core pillars that lie at the heart of digital transformation in security work:

Digital Infrastructure and Cybersecurity – establishing secure, trusted environments for smart systems to thrive.
Data as a Strategic Asset – enabling predictive, intelligence-driven decision-making.
Zero Bureaucracy – creating faster, more efficient, and user-centric services.
Emerging Technologies – leveraging innovation as a strategic opportunity to build more intelligent, responsive policing systems.

“This session reflects our commitment to translating artificial intelligence from theory into actionable institutional practice. AI is no longer a concept of the future—it is our tool to build a safer, smarter, and more proactive tomorrow,” he added.

Collaborative Thinking for Real-World Solutions
The session focused on identifying key challenges related to AI integration in policing, evaluating them through the lenses of impact and likelihood, and designing actionable, scalable solutions.

Using an interactive format, the session began with a silent brainstorming round, followed by participant voting to prioritise challenges. Attendees were then divided into breakout groups to co-develop implementable recommendations. The most practical and impactful outcomes were documented for further review.

Discussion topics included digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, data utilisation, administrative simplification, and the role of emerging technologies in reshaping future policing models. The diversity of participants added depth to the dialogue and enabled the formulation of well-rounded, cross-functional ideas.

Driving Innovation and Future Readiness
The AI Breakfast session reflects Dubai Police’s continued leadership in adopting future foresight methodologies and cutting-edge innovations in law enforcement, in alignment with the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 and Dubai’s vision of building a safe, smart, and knowledge-based city.
