- May 17, 2025
Dubai: As part of the World Police Summit hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai Police unveiled its new Virtual Ghiath Patrol Training System, a cutting-edge virtual reality programme designed to train and upskill patrol officers and drivers from the General Department of Traffic and various police stations.
The initiative was officially unveiled by His Excellency Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police. The programme reflects the organisation’s ongoing commitment to innovation, future-readiness, and institutional excellence through world-class training services and smart learning systems.
The Virtual Ghiath Patrol enables participants to experience and respond to realistic policing scenarios in a controlled virtual environment. The training is delivered across five progressive stages, allowing officers to engage with practical, high-fidelity simulations aimed at improving operational efficiency, decision-making, and rapid response capabilities.
Major General Al Ghaithi highlighted that Dubai Police has consistently invested in emerging technologies to advance both service delivery and personnel development. “This new virtual patrol system embodies our commitment to smart policing and professional excellence. It reflects years of continuous progress and innovation that have made Dubai Police a global role model in law enforcement.”
AI-Powered Innovation for Safer Cities
The launch of the Virtual Ghiath Patrol aligns with Dubai Police’s broader strategy to integrate artificial intelligence and immersive technologies into its operations—supporting crime prevention, improving response times, and ultimately contributing to the vision of making Dubai one of the safest and happiest cities in the world.
Brigadier Nabeel Alrida, Acting Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue, emphasised that the initiative showcases Dubai Police’s focus on harnessing the latest AI technologies to anticipate future challenges, strengthen security, and enhance community wellbeing. “What sets Dubai Police apart is its ability to stay ahead through innovation and strategic foresight,” he said.
During the launch event, Major General Al Ghaithi and attending officials received a detailed briefing from Major Engineer Omar Al Khaja, Director of the Centre for the Future of Digital Mobility. He explained that the Virtual Ghiath Patrol offers users immersive exposure to a range of real-world policing scenarios, allowing them to train in a dynamic and evolving environment that mirrors the complexity of field operations.
