Dubai Police and ENOC-Autopro Graduate First Cohort of First Responder Training Programme

Dubai: Dubai Police, represented by the General Department of Traffic in collaboration with the (On-the-Go) initiative and ENOC-Autopro, has announced the graduation of 27 participants from the First Responder Training Programme.

The course is the first in the region and equips police personnel with internationally recognised skills for handling road incidents involving electric and hybrid vehicles.

Graduates of the programme have successfully met all requirements of the International Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) certification, issued in the United Kingdom. The training focused on safety protocols and procedures when responding to accidents involving high-voltage vehicle systems.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Brigadier Juma Bin Suwaidan, Deputy Director of the General Department of Traffic; Captain Majid Bin Saad Al Kaabi, Head of the "On-the-Go" Initiative; Yousif Harib, Executive Director of Retail Operations at ENOC; as well as a number of officers and officials from both organisations.

Raising Awareness and Enhancing Road Safety

Brigadier Bin Suwaidan praised the strong partnership between Dubai Police and ENOC-Autopro and commended the ongoing efforts to raise traffic awareness and improve road safety standards through practical and targeted initiatives.

He stressed the importance of equipping Dubai Police officers with the necessary knowledge of international safety procedures for handling electric vehicle (EV) incidents, especially to avoid injuries or electrocution risks associated with high-voltage systems.

A Pioneering Training Programme in the Region

Yousif Harib, Executive Director of Retail Operations at ENOC, emphasised the significance of this partnership, highlighting the company's commitment to supporting Dubai Police's awareness campaigns and the "On-the-Go" initiative.

He added, "Providing technical support and training for first responders is critical to ensuring safe and professional handling of electric vehicle accidents. This training plays a vital role in avoiding life-threatening hazards such as electric shock, which can occur due to direct exposure to high-voltage components."

This programme marks the first of its kind in the region and sets the foundation for future training cycles. Autopro Academy, an internationally accredited training centre, will continue offering similar courses in collaboration with Dubai Police. These programmes will be tailored to meet Dubai's frontline law enforcement personnel's evolving operational needs and readiness standards.
