Dubai Police Celebrates Cultural Diversity with Over 600 Students in a Festive School Event

Dubai: In celebration of the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, Dubai Police hosted a vibrant event at Hemaya School for Girls – Primary Stage, bringing together over 600 students from diverse nationalities and backgrounds.

The initiative, in cooperation with the Positive Spirit Council, reflects Dubai Police’s continuous efforts to foster cultural understanding, inclusion, and mutual respect among youth.

This international day, observed annually by UNESCO on 21 May, highlights the vital role of cultural diversity in promoting dialogue and sustainable development. The celebration was part of Dubai Police’s broader social engagement strategy and aligned with the UAE’s Year of Community.

Fatima Bohujair, Head of the Cultural Diversity Section at the General Department of Community Happiness and Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council, Ms. Rania Ahmad Al Halabi, Principal of Hemaya School for Girls, and school faculty and administrative staff, attended the event.

Building Bridges Through Culture

Fatima Bohujair highlighted the importance of integrating tolerance and coexistence values into community initiatives, particularly those aimed at younger generations.

“This celebration is more than a cultural showcase. It’s a living example of how we can promote empathy and respect across communities. Through dialogue, creativity, and shared experiences, we build stronger, more inclusive societies,” she said.

Principal Rania Al Halabi expressed her appreciation for the initiative and its role in enhancing the student’s understanding of the world beyond the classroom.

“Events like these enrich our students’ perspectives and reinforce the principles of respect, collaboration, and global citizenship,” she noted. “They also help us cultivate a school environment that embraces differences and empowers students to be confident, socially aware individuals.”

A Colourful Tribute to Global Unity

The event featured various multicultural performances representing 25 countries, including traditional dances, folklore, and music. Dubai Police added a special touch with pony shows, luxury police patrol displays, and participation from the Tourist Police, creating a unique blend of fun and learning.
