Dubai: Dubai Police celebrated the graduation of a new cohort of students from the “Safety Ambassadors” programme, an initiative aimed at training and empowering selected students from schools across the Emirate of Dubai. The programme is designed to enhance security and community awareness while equipping youth with practical skills in leadership, safety, effective communication, community engagement, and child protection.

Acting Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, His Excellency Major General Hareb Al Shamsi, attended the graduation  in the presence of several distinguished guests, including Her Excellency Aisha Miran, Director General of Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA); His Excellency Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Undersecretary for the Sports Development and Competitiveness Sector at the Ministry of Sports; and His Excellency Dr Major General Ahmad Zaal Bin Krishan Almuhairi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Administrative and Financial Sector.

Also present were Dubai Police’s assistant commanders, strategic partners, and the proud families of the graduates. The ceremony celebrated the achievements of 34 students in total, comprising 13 from government schools, 11 from Hemaya Schools, and 10 from private schools.

Major General Hareb Al Shamsi congratulated the students and the organising team on the success of the initiative, commending their role in fostering security knowledge among the younger generation. He noted that these students will serve as messengers of awareness within their schools, contributing to the overall safety of the community.

The ceremony featured heartfelt speeches, visual and artistic presentations by the students, and a formal recognition of their efforts, creating a proud and celebratory atmosphere that highlighted the positive impact of the programme.

The “Safety Ambassadors” initiative is part of Dubai Police’s broader efforts to involve youth in community service and empower them to take on meaningful roles in promoting awareness and preventive action within their school environments and beyond.

Captain Rashid Nasser bin Yousef Al Ali, Chairman of the Safety Ambassadors Council, expressed pride in the graduating students, stating that they demonstrated exceptional awareness and commitment throughout the programme. He described the initiative as a leading platform for developing student capabilities and enabling them to take on impactful societal roles.

He also announced the upcoming launch of several new community initiatives in partnership with local and international entities, including the “Sports Ambassadors” and “Neighbourhood Ambassadors” programmes. These future initiatives aim to broaden the scope of community outreach and further instil positive values and social responsibility among students across various fields.
