Dubai: Renowned cricket coach and former India and UAE player Robin Singh is all set to launch the RSR Cricket Academy in Dubai, a visionary project designed to reshape grassroots cricket in the region.

This marks Robin’s third major stint in the UAE. With this initiative, he aims to bring professional discipline, international exposure, and modern coaching techniques to junior cricketers.

“Our mission is to build a system where every talented child can grow without limitations,” said Robin Singh, Founder and Chief Mentor of the academy. “Through structured training, regular match experience, and access to global pathways, RSR will prepare players for international success.”

Star-Studded Coaching Panel
The academy will be backed by top-tier partnerships in India and England and boasts a prestigious coaching lineup:

• Lakshmipathy Balaji, Thiru Kumaran, and Debashish Mohanty – all former Indian cricketers
• West Indies legends Curtly Ambrose and Shivnarine Chanderpaul
• Fitness and performance experts like Ramji Srinivasan, who worked with India’s 2011 World Cup-winning squad, and Tanveer

Robin himself, known for coaching national and IPL teams like Mumbai Indians, has personally designed the academy’s unique analytics-driven curriculum.

“This isn’t a venture for fame. We’re here for serious grassroots development. I’ll be involved in every detail,” Robin emphasized.

Innovative “Play More, Train Less” Approach
A key philosophy of the RSR Academy is its “Play More, Train Less” model, which focuses on real-time match experience over excessive practice.
Weekly matches and participation in school tournaments will help players build match temperament early on.

“No tall promises, just simple cricket,” Robin said. “We welcome every school with cricket facilities to join hands with RSR under my mentorship.”

Technology, Transparency, and Scholarships
The academy will use integrated technology to help players and parents track performance metrics and access match videos in real-time — ensuring transparency and personalised feedback.

To support emerging talent, RSR will offer a comprehensive scholarship programme, which includes:

Collaboration with UAE schools will ensure students can balance both academics and sports, with transportation and school bus services included for convenience and safety.

Launch Details
After a soft launch in Chennai, the official Dubai inauguration is scheduled for mid-August 2025, with several prominent figures from the cricketing world expected to attend.
Registrations open on August 10, and regular sessions will begin from September 1.
