Operation \'Villa\': Dubai Police Foil Gang with 40kg of Drugs

Dubai: Dubai Police has successfully carried out Operation “Villa”, which led to the arrest of two Asian gang members running drug distribution activities from a residential villa under the direction of a trafficker based abroad.

Brigadier Khalid bin Muwaiza, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, said the operation reflects Dubai Police’s relentless efforts to track, intercept, and dismantle the plans of drug dealers, promoters, and smugglers attempting to spread their poisons among young people.

The operation was launched after intelligence confirmed that a criminal group was promoting drugs from inside the villa. A dedicated task force immediately began extensive investigations, combining surveillance and field monitoring to follow the suspects’ movements and their methods of evading the police.

The first breakthrough came when one member of the gang was lured into a trap and arrested. He later confessed, revealing his partner’s role in the scheme.

A second sting was then set up, resulting in the arrest of the accomplice red-handed while packaging narcotics. Interrogations revealed that both suspects were operating under a gang leader running the operation from outside the country, with the aim of trafficking and promoting drugs in the UAE.

The raid uncovered 40 kilograms of narcotics, including ketamine, crystal meth, marijuana, hashish oil, and various chemical substances and liquids.

Brig. bin Muwaiza highlighted that this success demonstrates Dubai Police’s advanced crime-fighting system, which integrates artificial intelligence technologies with skilled and highly qualified officers. He stressed that Dubai Police will continue to strike hard against anyone attempting to undermine community safety, cutting off criminal networks even if their masterminds operate from abroad.

He also called on the public to support the fight against drugs by reporting any suspicious activities, behaviours, or messages through the call centre on 901, or via the “Police Eye” service on the Dubai Police Smart App.
