Dubai Police Engages Filipino Community in Security and Traffic Awareness Forum
- October 14, 2025
Dubai: Dubai Police continues its efforts to strengthen security, traffic, and community awareness among Dubai’s diverse residents. The General Department of Criminal Investigation, represented by the Crime Prevention and Wanted Persons Departments, organised a special awareness forum for the Filipino community at the Dubai Police Officers Club in Al Jaddaf.
The event brought together H.E. Marford M. Angeles, Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines in Dubai and the Northern Emirates; Brigadier Tariq Hilal Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation for Operations Affairs; and Brigadier Dr Abdulrahman Sharaf, Director of the International Hemaya Centre at the General Department of Anti-Narcotics. Also in attendance were several officers, officials, and around 150 members of the Filipino community.
The forum included informative sessions that introduced participants to the smart services available through the Dubai Police Smart App and official website, as well as the eCrime Hub platform, which raises awareness about online scams and cybercrimes. Attendees also learned about the dangers of drug abuse, traffic safety laws, and protection services for women and children. Dubai Police representatives reminded the public to call 999 only in emergencies and 901 for non-urgent cases or general inquiries. They also explained the ‘Police Eye’ service, which allows residents to report suspicious or negative activities directly to Dubai Police.
Welcoming the Consul General and participants, Brigadier Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of open communication between Dubai Police and the many communities living in the emirate.
“Our goal is to promote a sense of shared responsibility and strengthen trust between the police and the community,” he said. “Security is not just about enforcement—it is about awareness, cooperation, and partnership. When residents understand the law and know how to access police services, we can all contribute to a safer and more stable society.”
He added that the Filipino community is one of the most active and engaged groups in Dubai. Dubai Police is eager to maintain close ties with them through initiatives that encourage dialogue, provide information, and support their integration within the city’s diverse and vibrant society.
The forum concluded with an open discussion, where participants shared their experiences and asked questions about police services, traffic rules, and community safety. Dubai Police reaffirmed its commitment to holding similar awareness events for other communities across Dubai to strengthen public safety and mutual understanding.
