Dubai Police Ensure Smooth Traffic During Hatta Winter Festival
- December 13, 2025
Dubai: Dubai Police have confirmed that traffic is flowing smoothly in and around the Hatta Winter Festival area, thanks to intensive efforts and close coordination between police teams and partners.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations and Chair of the Events Security Committee (ESC), urged visitors to the Hatta Winter Festival to respect all traffic and safety rules and to cooperate with police officers and organisers, especially during peak hours and weekends.
He reminded families to follow the guidance of traffic officers, supervise their children, avoid leaving them unattended, and call 999 for emergencies and 901 for general enquiries. A dedicated operations room has been established in the area to strengthen response times and enhance the overall sense of safety for festival goers.
The festival, organised by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, is now in its second season. It runs until 28 December along Lake Leem, offering a wide range of family friendly activities and attractions.
Major General Al Mazroui explained that security and traffic teams have intensified their efforts with the launch of the second season, in cooperation with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). This coordination has ensured smooth and flexible traffic movement and enabled hundreds of visitors over the weekend to access and leave the site without major congestion.
He added that these efforts reflect the committee’s commitment to providing a safe and comfortable environment for all visitors. They also reinforce Hatta’s growing status as a key winter tourism destination in the United Arab Emirates and highlight the capabilities of the security and organising teams in managing crowds and large events.
Colonel Ali Obaid Al Bedwawi, Acting Director of Hatta Police Station, said that Dubai Police, in partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), have formed internal and external task forces to manage traffic and secure the festival. Officers have been deployed at all key entrances and exits. A new parking area that accommodates around 500 vehicles has been introduced near Leem Lake, easing pressure on surrounding roads and improving safety for drivers and pedestrians.
He noted that due to visitors’ cooperation and the swift response of field teams to any violations, traffic flow remained stable without serious congestion. On the security side, Dubai Police, in collaboration with Brand Dubai, have set up a fully equipped operations room at the site, using advanced technologies to monitor the event and further enhance visitor safety.
Colonel Al Bedwawi added that women police teams are supporting families directly, while young volunteers from Hatta are assisting with onsite organisation. He confirmed that all teams are fully prepared to handle any situation and ensure a safe, comfortable experience for everyone attending the festival.
