Dubai:  Dubai Police continue to strengthen sports awareness through their “Your Commitment Is Happiness” initiative, which delivers educational activities for school students to introduce them to spectator responsibilities and the values of positive support.

As part of the programme, organised in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council, the initiative delivered an awareness workshop for participants in the Dubai 2025 Asian Youth Para Games at Hamdan Sports Complex. The session highlighted spectator obligations outlined in UAE Federal Law No. 8 of 2014 concerning the security of sports facilities and events. 

Lieutenant Nabet Sultan Al Ketbi said the initiative aims to strengthen communication between clubs and fans, unify efforts to enhance the sporting experience, and reinforce a culture of positive cheering. He noted the importance of using social media effectively to spread constructive messages and respectful criticism among all parties, reflecting the UAE’s civilised image in its stadiums.

He added that the initiative raises public awareness about the limits of cheering and the risks of expressing emotions negatively towards others. He also pointed to strong engagement from sports and media organisations, as well as wider community interaction, which has contributed to a noticeable decline in negative behaviour in stadium stands.

Lieutenant Al Ketbi further explained that the provisions of the federal law on the security of sports facilities and events support comprehensive safety procedures for athletes and facilities across the country. These measures are implemented through advanced security standards and controls aligned with international practices for managing safety and security at festivals and major sporting events.
