Abdulaziz Al Musallam: 27 countries at Sharjah Heritage Days

Sharjah: Dr Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, stated that the 23rd edition of Sharjah Heritage Days launched, on Wednesday, with the participation of 27 countries from around the world, showcasing their cultures in the Heart of Sharjah, under the patronage and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
He explained that the theme of Sharjah Heritage Days, “Glow of Authenticity”, stems from Old Sharjah, where cultural heritage is revived — whether through folk arts, storytelling, customs and traditions, or the full spectrum of cultural heritage brought to life in the heart of Sharjah.

He added, in remarks to “Sharjah 24,” that “Glow of Authenticity” presents genuine Emirati heritage, in addition to Gulf, Arab, and global heritage, with more than 400 participants showcasing crafts, traditions, and storytelling, alongside hundreds of members of folk art groups performing their traditional shows in the Sharjah Heritage Days square.

He noted that the event also features several important exhibitions from China and France, a personal museums exhibition, various handicrafts, and restaurants offering traditional foods. He pointed out that the square witnessed a large turnout on the first day, with free transport available from the Emirates of Dubai and Ajman, as well as water transport from Al Qasba and Al Khan area.
