Dubai: Dubai Police are taking part in the Unified GCC Traffic Week 2026, held under the theme “Cross Safely”, through a comprehensive traffic awareness exhibition aimed at promoting safer road behaviour.

The initiative is organised by the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Federal Traffic Council, in partnership with the Integrated Transport Centre “Abu Dhabi Mobility”, alongside police headquarters across the UAE and several strategic partners.

Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, explained that this year’s campaign focuses on strengthening traffic awareness and encouraging responsible road behaviour. He highlighted that the initiative supports unified efforts to build a strong safety culture across society and aligns with the vision of police leadership to achieve long-term road safety goals.

He noted that Unified GCC Traffic Week provides a valuable platform for exchanging expertise and insights among participants, particularly as many traffic challenges are shared across the region due to similar conditions. This, he added, reinforces the importance of joint responsibility in raising awareness, addressing road risks, and developing effective plans and programmes based on successful experiences and benchmarking practices.
As part of their participation, Dubai Police have prepared a series of programmes and activities under the “Cross Safely” theme, including an awareness exhibition hosted at Arabian Centre. The exhibition features interactive activities, educational lectures, and community-focused initiatives designed to engage the public.

Coinciding with the event, the Ministry of Interior has also launched a three-month media campaign under the same theme to further promote traffic safety awareness. The campaign encourages road users to follow traffic laws, adopt safe crossing practices, use designated pedestrian bridges, tunnels, and crossings, and ensure roads are clear before crossing.
