Dubai: Dubai Police have reinforced their efforts to promote positive sports culture by delivering an awareness lecture at Zayed Educational Complex in Al Khawaneej, as part of their “Your Commitment is Our Happiness” initiative.

The session aimed to raise awareness among students and faculty about the responsibilities of sports fans in stadiums, in line with Federal Law No. 8 of 2014 on the security of sports facilities and events.

Lieutenant Naif Sultan Al Ketbi addressed attendees, including administrative and teaching staff as well as students, highlighting that the initiative focuses on strengthening engagement with sports audiences across all segments of society. He emphasised the importance of fostering a culture of positive support that reflects the UAE’s civilised image in sports venues.

He further explained that the initiative plays a key role in educating the public on the boundaries of fan behaviour, ensuring compliance with the federal law governing the security of sports facilities and events.

Lieutenant Al Ketbi also noted that the provisions of the law are designed to guarantee the safety of athletes and facilities across the country, supported by advanced security standards that align with international best practices for managing safety at major sporting events and festivals.
