Dubai Police, Dubai Judicial Institute Strengthen Cooperation in Forensics and Criminology

Dubai: Dubai Police and Dubai Judicial Institute have explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation in forensic science and criminology, as both sides seek to build closer institutional partnerships and develop future areas of joint work.
A delegation from Dubai Judicial Institute, headed by Senior Advocate General Counsellor Khalid Amin Abdulrahim Al Zarouni of the Dubai Public Prosecution, visited the General Department of Forensic Science and Criminology at Dubai Police.
The delegation was received by Brigadier Senior Expert Khalid Hussain Al Sumaiti, Acting Director of the General Department of Forensic Science and Criminology, in the presence of Colonel Dr Expert Rashid Hamdan Al Ghafri, Deputy Director General for Administrative Affairs, and officials from both sides.
Strengthening Institutional Cooperation
Brigadier Al Sumaiti welcomed the delegation and stressed the importance of coordination visits in strengthening cooperation between government institutions.
He said such engagement provides an important channel for bringing perspectives closer together and supporting a unified approach to achieving common objectives and delivering high quality services to citizens, residents and visitors.
He added that the culture of partnership and cooperation in Dubai has developed into a model extending beyond the local and regional levels to international recognition, supported by the vision and direction of the UAE leadership.
Inside Dubai Police’s Forensic Capabilities
During the visit, Colonel Dr Al Ghafri provided the delegation with an overview of the General Department of Forensic Science and Criminology, its areas of responsibility and its scientific projects.
The presentation also highlighted the Department’s specialised expertise and capabilities, as well as the international standing it has developed in forensic science and criminology.
The delegation toured a number of specialised departments and sections, where experts and specialists explained their work, areas of expertise, and the practices and technologies used in forensic operations.
Advanced Forensic Expertise
Members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for the advanced capabilities they observed in forensic sciences and welcomed the opportunity to learn more about Dubai Police’s experience in forensic science and criminology.
The visit provided both sides with an opportunity to exchange knowledge and examine areas where greater coordination could support their respective responsibilities.
Future Steps to Support Public Safety
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides exchanged commemorative shields and stressed the importance of maintaining coordination and joint work.
They also highlighted the need to develop practical future steps that strengthen cooperation and improve the efficiency of efforts supporting public safety, contributing to the strategic objective of maintaining Dubai’s safety.
