Dubai: Dubai Police has celebrated Emirati women whose achievements extend beyond their professional careers, recognising working mothers who have successfully balanced demanding responsibilities at work with raising and supporting high achieving children.

The celebration, organised by the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency, marked Emirati Women’s Day under this year’s theme, “Together We Emerge Stronger and Better.”

Held at the Dubai Public Prosecution building, the event brought together female personnel from Dubai Police as well as employees from Dubai Public Prosecution, Dubai Courts, Dubai Municipality and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Success Beyond the Workplace

Colonel Ahmad Salem Al Mansouri, Deputy Director of the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency for Protective Security Affairs, said Emirati Women’s Day provides an opportunity to recognise the pioneering role of Emirati women and their contributions across different areas of national service.
He said Emirati women have demonstrated their capabilities across policing and security fields, taking on specialised responsibilities and setting examples in commitment, discipline and excellence.

Dubai Police, he added, places significant emphasis on empowering female personnel, expanding their participation across different fields and creating an environment that supports professional development while helping women balance their professional, family and community responsibilities.

Women Share Their Policing Journeys

The celebration featured a film tracing the journey and achievements of Emirati women since the establishment of the UAE.

Female personnel from the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency shared their own experiences of working in policing and spoke about the opportunities that have enabled women to demonstrate their capabilities, advance across different specialisations and contribute directly to serving the country and strengthening community security and stability.

The film also highlighted women from the department who have achieved success in both their professional and personal lives, reflecting the ability of Emirati women to pursue career excellence while playing a central role in building families and raising future generations.

Meet First Lieutenant Maitha Mohammad

Among the stories highlighted was First Lieutenant Maitha Mohammad, whose journey combines professional ambition, motherhood and sporting achievement.
First Lieutenant Maitha has twice received the Ideal Mother Award as part of the Commander in Chief of Dubai Police Award, while also building a distinguished sporting record in shooting.

Her story was presented as an example of an ambitious Emirati woman achieving excellence across more than one area of her life.

Celebrating the Mothers Behind Academic Success

At the conclusion of the event, Colonel Al Mansouri honoured a number of working mothers from the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency whose children had achieved academic excellence.

The recognition celebrated the effort required to balance professional responsibilities with the role mothers play in supporting, encouraging and guiding their children towards achievement.

Colonel Al Mansouri praised both the mothers and their children, stressing that the success of Emirati women is not measured solely by what they accomplish professionally. Their contribution, he said, also extends to building strong families and raising aware, ambitious generations capable of contributing to the UAE’s future.

The celebration reflected a wider message behind Emirati Women’s Day: women’s achievements can be found not only in the positions they hold or the responsibilities they carry, but also in the generations they help prepare for the future.
