Sharjah: Sharjah Safari is preparing to welcome visitors for the start of its fifth season from Monday, 21 September 2026, further strengthening its position as one of Sharjah’s leading eco-tourism destinations. The new season offers an immersive experience that combines wildlife discovery, education and adventure, transporting visitors to Africa with large natural environments, giving families the opportunity to explore diverse species and learn more about their characteristics up close.
The fifth season introduces a range of new highlights, led by further achievements in Sharjah Safari’s breeding and animal care programmes, following the recording of 186 births during the second quarter of 2026. The season will also feature exclusive behind-the-scenes tours during selected periods, offering visitors a closer look at the world of wildlife and the dedicated efforts involved in caring for the animals.

An evolving experience at the heart of wildlife
Her Excellency Aisha Rashid Deemas, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA), said the fifth season marks another step in Sharjah Safari’s continuous development, through which the Authority continues to strengthen the Safari’s role in supporting wildlife conservation while providing visitors with an enriching experience that brings them closer to the animal world and deepens their understanding of it.

Her Excellency said: “The fifth season reflects a vision in which the value of Sharjah Safari extends beyond what visitors see during their journey to the knowledge and awareness they gain about wildlife and the importance of its conservation. With this in mind, we continue to develop our programmes and experiences and strengthen our animal care and breeding programmes, making each season a new step forward in Sharjah Safari’s journey and in EPAA’s mission to safeguard biodiversity.”

She added: “This season, we are bringing visitors closer to the many dimensions of the wildlife experience. Beyond observing animals in environments that reflect their natural habitats, visitors will have opportunities to discover the work and expertise behind their care. Our aim is for every visitor to leave Sharjah Safari with an enjoyable experience, deeper knowledge and a greater appreciation of our shared responsibility towards nature and wildlife.”

186 new births
Sharjah Safari enters its fifth season with a significant number of new arrivals, following 186 births recorded through its breeding and animal care programmes during the second quarter of 2026. These included a diverse range of species housed at the Safari, including South African giraffes, elephants, lions, oryx, blue wildebeest, impala, nyala and zebra, among others.

These births highlight the outcomes of Sharjah Safari’s specialised breeding and animal care programmes and the suitable environments it provides to meet the needs of different species. They also give visitors during the new season the opportunity to observe a new generation of animals and learn more about them up close.

Sharjah Safari also recently welcomed six Critically Endangered  Radiated Tortoise hatchlings, marking another addition to its breeding and animal care efforts and its commitment to supporting species conservation and enhancing biodiversity.

Exclusive behind-the-scenes animal care tours
Among the key additions to the fifth season are exclusive behind-the-scenes tours, available during selected periods. The tours will give visitors a closer look at aspects of daily animal care while providing deeper insight into the animals’ needs and the expertise and efforts involved in their care.

These tours add an educational and interactive dimension to the visitor experience, going beyond animal observation to help visitors understand the importance of specialised care and its role in supporting wildlife conservation efforts.

An experience combining learning and discovery
Throughout its fifth season, Sharjah Safari will continue to offer a range of educational and recreational programmes and activities, alongside opportunities to observe animals across expansive spaces and environments that replicate their natural habitats. This allows visitors to discover different species and ecosystems in a more engaging and immersive way.

The new season brings together an enhanced visitor experience with continued efforts in breeding, animal care and environmental awareness, further strengthening Sharjah Safari’s role as a destination that combines eco-tourism, education and entertainment while promoting greater knowledge of wildlife and the importance of its conservation.

Sharjah Safari will welcome visitors daily starting Monday, 21 September 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., offering a renewed fifth-season experience that opens new opportunities for visitors to explore the world of wildlife and discover its diversity up close.
