Dubai: As Dubai’s events season gets under way, the Dubai Events Security Committee (ESC) has adopted a new formation designed to strengthen readiness and coordination between the organisations responsible for securing and organising events across the emirate.

The new formation brings together more than 55 partners from government, semi government and private sectors, supporting a coordinated approach to safety, security and visitor services at events across Dubai.

It aims to strengthen joint operations and ensure the highest standards of security and safety, reflecting Dubai’s global reputation for hosting and organising major events.

New Formation

Under the new formation, Brigadier Obaid Mubarak Al Ketbi, Director of the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency at Dubai Police, will serve as Chairman of ESC. Brigadier Hisham Nasir Alsuwaidi will serve as Deputy Chairman.
Brigadier Al Ketbi said the new formation forms part of continuous efforts to develop the Committee’s working mechanisms and unify efforts across government, semi government and private sector partners.

Faster Coordination and Decision Making

The new formation is designed to enable faster coordination and decision making while ensuring closer integration between security, traffic, organisational and service roles. It will also strengthen field readiness across different event locations.

Brigadier Al Ketbi explained that clearly defining responsibilities and areas of responsibility between teams and participating organisations will support the efficient implementation of approved plans and establish an integrated approach to managing and securing events.

This is particularly important for major events that attract large numbers of visitors from both within the UAE and overseas.

Safe and Seamless Events

Brigadier Al Ketbi stressed the importance of continuously developing joint operations and strengthening integration between all partners. He said this will help provide the highest levels of security and safety while delivering integrated services to the public.
The approach also reflects Dubai’s readiness and ability to organise and secure events in accordance with international best practices.

Brigadier Al Ketbi wished the Committee success as Dubai begins a new season of events, with more than 55 partners working together to provide safe, well organised and seamless experiences for residents and visitors.
