Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Journalists Association (EJA) organised a lecture titled “An Exceptional Emirati Woman… A Power That Creates and a Legacy That Endures” at the Nabd Al Falahi Centre in the New Al Falahi area of Abu Dhabi.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Mona Ghazi, Mental Health Consultant and researcher specialising in women’s affairs and community development. The event was attended by journalists, media professionals and members of the community interested in social issues.

The lecture addressed a number of key themes, including building awareness, strengthening self-confidence, discovering personal and leadership capabilities, and enhancing women’s understanding of their value and role in society.

Dr. Mona highlighted the importance of women using their abilities effectively to create a positive and sustainable impact in their communities. She noted that a woman’s journey towards excellence is not limited to professional achievements or reaching leadership positions, but begins with self-awareness, recognising her abilities and continuously developing her skills.

She also emphasised the importance of turning personal experiences and challenges into opportunities for growth, contribution and creating meaningful impact.

H.E. Fadheela Al Muaini, Chairperson of the Emirates Journalists Association, said the choice of the lecture’s theme reflected the importance of highlighting the achievements and experiences of Emirati women.

She noted that Emirati women have become a model of combining ambition and responsibility, professional success, and their roles within the family and wider community.

Al Muaini said the title of the lecture carries a message that goes beyond celebrating achievements to emphasising the value of the lasting impact women create through knowledge, values and experiences that they pass on to their children, communities and future generations.

She added that the event coincided with the month celebrating Emirati Women and Year of the Family, giving the initiative special significance. She stressed that women are key partners in building families, while the family represents the first foundation for nurturing individuals and instilling values, awareness, belonging and responsibility.

Al Muaini praised the content presented by Dr. Mona Ghazi, noting that the lecture offered valuable ideas and experiences relevant to women’s lives and contributed to developing their personal and professional capabilities.

She reaffirmed the EJA’s commitment to organising events that address human and community issues alongside its specialised programmes in journalism and media.

Reem Al Breiki, EJA Board Member and Chairperson of the Training and Development Committee, said the Association is keen not only to support media training and professional development but also to actively participate in national and community initiatives that reflect the UAE’s commitment to empowering women and strengthening families and community development.

She said the lecture was part of the Association’s efforts to expand its programmes and make them accessible to different segments of society. The Training and Development Committee, she added, aims to offer diverse topics combining professional knowledge with personal and leadership skills.

Training Grant Presented to EJA

As part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and invest in professional skills development, Mahmoud Jad, CEO of the Union of Experts Training and Consultancy Centre, presented a training grant to the Emirates Journalists Association.

The grant included five free seats for an advanced training course on “Public Speaking, Presentation and Delivery Skills”, conducted by trainer Mohammed Al Qahtani.

The initiative aims to enhance communication, public presence and influence skills while supporting professional and media competencies through specialised training programmes.

Participants Honoured

The event also featured a series of honours recognising the contributions of participating individuals and organisations.

H.E. Fadheela Al Muaini honoured Dr. Mona Ghazi in appreciation of her participation and contribution to the lecture.

The Emirates Journalists Association also honoured the Nabd Al Falahi Centre for its support of public-benefit organisations and community initiatives and for hosting the event.

Meanwhile, Mahmoud Jad, CEO of the Union of Experts Training and Consultancy Centre, honoured H.E. Fadheela Al Muaini in recognition of her efforts and role in supporting meaningful community initiatives.

The event reaffirmed the Emirates Journalists Association’s commitment to supporting professional development while contributing to national and community initiatives that promote empowerment, family values and sustainable social development.
