The award ceremony was held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Colombo, Sri Lanka, recognising his contribution towards promoting the P4 philosophy of poverty eradication, family empowerment and inclusive development.
The recognition highlights the growing international relevance of Andhra Pradesh’s innovative P4 initiative, championed by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu Garu, which brings together government support, private participation and people’s involvement to build a poverty-free and prosperous society.
Expressing his gratitude, Mohammed Areef dedicated this international award to Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu Garu, acknowledging his visionary leadership and commitment towards transforming Andhra Pradesh through inclusive development.
Connecting NRIs with Their Hometowns–A Statewide Mission
As an NRI Delegate and Margadarsi, Mohammed Areef has been actively working to strengthen the participation of Non-Resident Indians in the P4 movement across the entire state of Andhra Pradesh, going beyond his home district of Kadapa.
His vision is to create meaningful connections between NRIs and their respective hometowns, villages and communities across different districts of Andhra Pradesh. By engaging NRIs from different countries, connecting them with their native places, encouraging collaborations and facilitating partnerships with local communities, he aims to transform NRI goodwill into sustainable grassroots development.
His initiatives focus on mobilising NRIs to contribute towards family adoption, education, healthcare, livelihood opportunities, skill development, entrepreneurship, community infrastructure and other social development activities.
He is also working towards building a collaborative network of NRIs, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, professionals and community leaders who can collectively support the P4 mission and create measurable improvements in the lives of underprivileged families.
Taking Andhra Pradesh’s P4 Vision to Global Platforms
An important part of Mohammed Areef’s contribution is promoting the P4 initiative at various national and international summits, business forums and networking platforms.
Through his participation and engagement at platforms across India, Dubai and other international destinations, he has been working to introduce the P4 model to global audiences, encourage NRI participation and explore collaborations that can bring international expertise, resources and opportunities to Andhra Pradesh.
His objective is to position P4 as a globally relevant people-driven development model and inspire NRIs worldwide to become active partners in the development of their native communities.
Speaking about the international recognition, Mohammed Areef said: “Receiving an international award on Sri Lankan soil while representing my motherland, India, and my home state, Andhra Pradesh, is one of the most emotional and proud moments of my life. This recognition is not just for an individual. It represents the visionary leadership of our Hon’ble Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu Garu and the commitment of the Government of Andhra Pradesh towards eliminating poverty.
My mission is to connect NRIs across the world with their hometowns in Andhra Pradesh, bring them together, encourage meaningful collaborations and transform their commitment into real development at the grassroots level. I dedicate this international recognition to our Hon’ble Chief Minister and everyone working towards the P4 movement.”
Coming from Kadapa and currently based in Dubai, Areef believes that the collective strength of the global Telugu and Indian diaspora can play a significant role in accelerating the development of Andhra Pradesh.
He reaffirmed his commitment to expanding NRI engagement across all districts, strengthening international collaborations and taking the P4 philosophy to more global platforms.
The international recognition in Colombo is a proud moment for Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh and India, reflecting the growing potential of global NRI participation in people-centric development and the international promotion of Andhra Pradesh’s P4 vision.
