Dubai:The General Department of Human Resources at Dubai Police has officially launched the "Human Resources Lens" programme to monitor and analyse absenteeism due to sick leaves granted to employees and measuring their impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of corporate performance and employees’ productivity.

According to Brigadier Saleh Abdullah Murad, Director of Human Resources at Dubai Police, the "Human Resources Lens” programme is based on the Bradford Factor (or Bradford Formula) that is used in human resource management as a mean of measuring worker absenteeism. 

Brigadier Murad explained that the Bradford Factor uses both total time lost, and frequency of absence, to calculate a score that can indicate how disruptive specific employee absence patterns are for an organisation. 

He indicated that the "Human Resources Lens" uses the Factor as an indication, and it ensures reviewing every employee’s situation, as there could be underlying reasons as to why an employee is having a high absence frequency (such as a disability).
