Duba:In celebration of the International Children's Day, the Dubai Police has recently organized an awareness event for children at Kidzania -Dubai Mall.

Organised by the Cultural Diversity Section at the Security Awareness Department at Dubai Police , the event featured handing out awareness leaflets on children safety and security . It also hosted a number of activities including productive drawing. 

Major Ali Yusef Yaqoub, Head of Cultural Diversity Section at the Security Awareness Department of Dubai Police, said the event is a part of a series of events and programs carried out by the Department aimed at raising awareness amongst all segments of members including the children, in order to enhance their security culture. He noted that the event also sought raising the awareness level of children through simplified and age-appropriate methods in order to protect them against violence, abuse and exploitation.  

 
In his turn, 1st Lt. Khaled Saqr Al-Hai pointed out that the awareness-raising event educated children on how to deal with strangers and refuse to talk to them or accept their requests. It also highlighted the importance of communicating with parents and informing them of problems they encounter. Children were also encouraged to cooperate and communicate with the administrations of schools.
