Dubai Police secures 31 Million Passengers through DXB

Dubai: The General Department of Airports Security at Dubai Police, in cooperation with partners, successfully secured 31,959,410 passengers travelling and transiting through Dubai International Airport (DXB) in 2020, and it also secured 2,514,000 tons of air cargo.  

 These numbers were revealed during the annual inspection of the General Department of Airports Security, which was carried out by Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. 


 
Lt. General Al Marri said that the Dubai Police's role in providing innovative, effective, efficient, and timely security services at the Dubai International Airport is inventible, as it has always positioned as the world’s number one hub for international passengers and retained. 
 
"Dubai Police works tirelessly to strengthen bridges of trust and cooperation between the security personnel and the members of the public by ensuring their happiness with the quality of the services offered to the UAE visitors," Lt. Gen. Al Marri added. 
 
During the inspection visit, the commander-in-chief reviewed the Department's achievements and initiatives for the year 2020. The Department received a perfect score in meeting the national and international standards of airports security, given the implementation of innovative initiatives carried out throughout the year including: "Safe Airport", "Safe Bags", "Security Audit Programme", "Smart Operational Centre", and "ALERT". 
 
Lt. Gen. Al Marri was also briefed on the efficiency of security equipment and devices in the airport, which achieved 100% after introducing nine top-notch smart and back-end systems. He was then acquainted with the employees’ satisfaction index which successfully reached 99% last year due to the various initiatives launched by the Department in pursuant of employees happiness and satisfaction.  Lt. Gen. Al Marri further reviewed efforts exerted by Dubai Civil Aviation Security Centre in training 4311 employees last year. 

Lt. Gen. Al Marri also was briefed on the main performance indicator and the most prominent statistics of the Dubai Police Air Wing which has carried out 523 general missions and 319 security missions. These missions include patrolling parameters, direct transports, securing events, police participation tasks, security drills, transport of injured, official missions, air search, transport of patients, training, etc.
 
The Dubai Police Air Wing was able to respond to 90% of accidents within 15 minutes in a range of 40 km, with an average response time of 11 minutes and 23 seconds. In addition, the air rescue responded to 95% of accidents within 30 minutes in the second range (more than 40 km) with an average response time of 27 minutes, while the commitment to the time limit for handling emergency reports within one minute remained at 90%. 
 
Lt. Gen. Al Marri also reviewed the statistics of the training department at the Dubai Police Air Wing, where the number of training tasks reached 150 during the past year, and 59 employees were enrolled in regular interactive courses, with the aim of qualifying helicopter crews. Moreover, the job satisfaction and happiness rate among internal customers reached 99.7% during the past year.
