Dubai Police wins Four Awards during GCIIS

Dubai: The Dubai Police has recently bagged four awards at the 12th edition of the Global Continual Improvement and Innovation Symposium after competing against many government and private agencies from within and outside the country.

Major General Dr Mohammad Abdullah Al Murr, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Excellence and Pioneering at Dubai Police, congratulated the Dubai Police General Command on their new achievement that adds to the force’s proud record of achievements in various fields especially in policing excellence and pioneering.
 
He also praised the efforts of the Dubai Police in stabilizing the foundations of sustainable excellence and spreading its practices, as well as raising individual and institutional efficiency by applying international best practices across various operations.
 
Al Murr reaffirmed the Dubai Police's keenness to remain a role model of success, policing excellence and leadership, as well as to implement the latest technologies and creative methods of work per well-established methodologies, strategies and plans in achieving the strategic objectives of Dubai Police in ensuring the safety and happiness of society happy and providing a sustainable and productive environment. 
 
Brigadier Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Al Mualla, Director of the Department General for Excellence and Pioneering at Dubai Police, said that they constantly striving for improvement, upgrading the level of performance, services and operations. "Dubai Police embraces the concept of continuous improvement across its operations as a major element that enhances the force’s capabilities and response", He added. 
 
Al Mualla explained that Dubai Police won two awards in the "Lean Six Sigma" category for the "Money Transfer" project by the General Department of Criminal Investigation, and for the "Run-over Accidents" project by the Al Raffa Police Station. "Dubai Police is the only entity to be awarded in this category", he added.
 
Moreover, Dubai Police also won the "Kaizen and Innovation" category for the "Smart Security" project by the General Department of Transport and Rescue, and won fourth place in the "Best Practices" category for the "Sahalat" project by the Al Barsha Police Station. 
 
Dr Musa Erekat, Acting Director of the Six Sigma Centre for Continuous Improvement at Dubai Police, said that the centre represents a base that oversees various improvement processes, and it has supervised more than 350 improvement projects using “Six Sigma and Kaizen” methodologies. "These projects have resulted in significant improvements in operations and services, in addition to reducing costs and achieving revenues", Dr Erekat added.  
 
"As a result of these efforts, the Dubai Police has outperformed many government and private agencies, and triumphed these awards," he concluded.
