Dubai Police marks Commemoration Day

Dubai: The Dubai Police General Command joined the nation in observing a minute of silence, earlier today (Tuesday), to honour Emiratis who have sacrificed their lives serving our beloved country. 

The ceremony took place in the presence of Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri; His Excellency Mohammed Al Naboodah; and Dubai Police senior officers and staff members. 

The ceremony began with the lowering of the national flag at 8:00 a.m. 
And a minute’s silent prayer was observed from 11:30 a.m. to 11:31 a.m., which was followed by raising the flag and playing the national anthem.


In a statement marking the Day, Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, said Commemoration Day is dear to our hearts, and honours our righteous and noble martyrs who selflessly sacrificed their lives serving our nation.

"Their sacrifice will be deeply-rooted in the memory of generations to come," Lt. Gen. Al Marri added. 

Lt. Gen. Al Marri said November the 30th reflects an unforgettable memory to the UAE during which we remember those who have given their lives to protect our beloved homeland. Our heroes will remain a landmark and role models in the history of our beloved country. 

"Marking Commemoration Day and all national occasions increases our people cohesion and inspires them to pursue the UAE's march of prosperity, stability, security and happiness," Lt. Gen. Al Marri concluded.
