Al Barsha Police Station Response Time for Emergencies Down to 2:45 in 2021

Dubai: The Al Barsha police in Dubai recorded an average response time for emergencies of only 2.45 minutes in 2021, when the target was six minutes. They also amicably settled cheque reports worth AED 315,000,00 during the same period. 

Dubai Police released these figures during an annual inspection visit conducted by His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa A Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, in the presence of Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs; His Excellency Major General Ali Al Shamali, Director of Correctional and Punitive Institutions; Major General Ali Ghanim, Acting Director of Logistic Support; Brigadier Khaled Shuhail, Director of Community Happiness; Brigadier Abdurrahim bin Shafee, Director of Al Barsha Police Station; Brigadier Saleh Al Hamrani, Deputy Director of Excellence and Pioneering; as well as several Dubai Police senior officers and employees. 

According to the annual report of Al Barsha Police Station, they achieved the target of 100% on the Station’s indicator regarding the duty officer’s presence at reporting sites indicator across the area of jurisdiction. They also recorded an average response time for emergencies of 2:56 when the target was six minutes and an average time of 13:36 for non-emergency cases over the same period. 

The Al Barsha Police Station Cheques Division also amicably settled cheques worth about 315 million dirhams in 2021 compared to 264 million dirhams in 2020. 

Al Barsha Police Station also carried out a number of traffic awareness efforts last year, including the motorcycle and bicycle campaign, which aims to control road security and reduce negative traffic phenomena by educating riders on road safety and security. The campaign reached 271 beneficiaries and impounded eight motorcycles, which led to a 25 % reduction in motorcycle injuries reported in 2021 compared to 2020.

Al Barsha Police Station also processed 71,463 transactions (including 69,688 smart transactions and 1,775 in-person requests) last year compared to 45,186 smart transactions and 5,183 in-person requests in the year before. 

Last year, Al Barsha Police Station launched a number of administrative initiatives for employees, which increased the job satisfaction index to 96.8% compared to 95.9% in 2020. The initiatives include the open-door policy, the ‘Communication and Compassion’ initiative, the ‘Distinguished Employee’ Award, and the Happiness initiative. Al Barsha Police Station also implemented 65 suggestions in 2021 compared to 67 suggestions applied the year before.
