Dubai: The Dubai Police, represented by the People of Determination Empowerment Council, is taking part in the Access Abilities Expo, which kicked off today, Monday, at the Dubai World Trade Center. 

Running until Wednesday, Dubai Police's participation in the exhibition features its latest digital and innovative technological solutions to support people of determination.

Major Abdullah Hamad Al Shamsi, Chairman of the People of Determination Empowerment Council at Dubai Police, confirmed the Council's keenness to participate in the annual Access Abilities Expo, indicating that the expo serves as a prominent platform to bolster local and regional endeavours in supporting people of determination by exploring the latest technological advancements and modern techniques which aim to enhance their quality of life across various sectors.

Maj. Al Shamsi further stated, "We're keen, per the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, on investing all available resources and enhance joint efforts to enhance the quality of life for people of determination, in addition to supporting Dubai's societal strategy 'My Community ... A City for Everyone'". 

The Council is displaying a variety of technologies and smart programmes that provide support for people of determination, including the 'Sign Language Virtual Interpreter' service, allowing people of determination to access Dubai Police services using sign language. Furthermore, the smart screen easy access translator program, available at all smart police stations to assist individuals with visual impairments. The Council is also presenting educational and recreational workshops tailored to the needs of people of determination. 

In addition, Dubai Police stand is showcasing a range of 'Social Safety' stories prepared by the People of Determination Empowerment Council in Dubai Police, in collaboration with specialists and experts in the field of autism spectrum disorder. These stories are available in both Arabic and English for people with autism spectrum disorder and can be accessed through the Dubai Police smart App.

Dubai Police stand is also displaying the updated version of the 'Labbeh' service for people of determination, which is available at all Dubai Police Stations. Through the service, people of determination can communicate with customer happiness officers via video chat using an intercom device without leaving their vehicles.

Furthermore, the Council, in collaboration with the Positive Spirit initiative, is organising the sixth edition of the Chess Championship, which is being held for the first time in the Access Abilities Expo.

The Council is also presenting a diverse range of shows, activities, and programs tailored for both people of determination and the wider community. These included para taekwondo performances, interactive workshops on sign language and effective communication with people of determination, informative sessions on cybersecurity and traffic safety, as well as lectures on security and safety matters. Additionally, attendees are also getting brief on services available via the force’s 901 call centre and emergency hotline 999. Moreover, the Dubai Police Academy band entertained the audience with mesmerizing musical performances, and there were also impressive demonstrations featuring the K9 police dogs.
