Dubai: Kevin O'Hanlon, Chief of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security, visited the Dubai Police's stand at the Conference of the Parties (COP28) in the Green Zone.

O'Hanlon was received by His Excellency Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the Security and Operations Committee for the Conference of the Parties, and His Excellency Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the COP28 Security Committee.

Mr. Kevin O'Hanlon was briefed on the key services and projects offered by the stand in the environmental sector, which include 12 environmental projects: the Zero Carbon Police Force, the Dubai Resilient program, iServe for sustainable and clean energy transport, the Wastewater-Based Epidemiology project, the Plant-based Remediation of Explosive Contaminated Areas project, the Eco-friendly Ammunition, Carbon Footprint Tracking for Crime prevention, Sustainable Disposal methods for explosives and ammunition, the Smart Horse Stable project, the Dubai Police eco-friendly smart boat (Haddad), diploma program in Explosives, and a Resilience diploma program.

O'Hanlon expressed his admiration for the environmental and quality projects and services that Dubai Police has been able to employ in the security and police sectors, reflecting their belief in the importance of the role of security institutions in caring for the environment and promoting sustainable development.
